FOR THE MUSIC: Staff’s Choice – Freddie’s Fab Five

We asked Fred to take five from his busy schedule sending you lot records, and tell us five of his top picks of the week! Fred steps up the tempo for his selection this week…

New Order - Someone Like You

I’ve always loved New Order and Joy Division before they became New Order. Here are some great remixes of this track from James Holden and Funk D’Void.

Sunscream - Perfect Motion

Released in 1992, I remember this being pretty different to everything else being released at the time…

Orbital - Mutations

Also released in 1992, all mixes on this EP are great, but I really like the Beltram, acid mix, very early 90s.

Suburban Knight Feat. Dark Energy And Chameleon (7) – Hidden In Plainsight EP

Dark Energy, Black Strategy is a typical UR sounding track, great mix here by James Pennington on one of my favorite Detriot labels.

The Martian - Ghostdancer

All releases on this label are excellent but Gostdancer is my favorite by far, and I still play this now 29 years after it’s release. Pure Detriot.
